Congratulations to TFA Artist Monica Jahan Bose on her public art installation, CONCRETE DREAMS, this weekend! Bose, in collaboration with artist and filmmaker Robin Bell of Bell Visuals, created the installation around themes of the pandemic and gender, racial, and climate justice. The artists draped white saris made in Bose’s ancestral village in Bangladesh and printed with poetry, symbols, and drawings created in community workshops in DC, across the exterior of the DC Arts Center.
Robin Bell, known for his art activism and renowned projections on DC landmarks, projected videos and images from the poetry workshops on the saris after sundown.
Bose added to the installation with a table of sculptures also featuring poetry from the community.
Congratulations again to Monica, Robin, and all who participated in the installation this weekend!
